From the video script:
If you love stealth games but don’t have time to commit to a 60-hour campaign… have I got a game for you.
Thick As Thieves just dropped on PC, and it comes from Warren Spector, the guy who helped create Deus Ex and Thief. So yeah, he knows what he’s doing in the shadows.
You’re a thief in a fictional Scottish city from the early 1900s, where magic and early tech collide. There are two maps, 16 contracts, and every run reshuffles the guard positions and security layout, so it never plays the same way twice.
You can go it alone or bring a partner for co-op. You’ve got a bunch of creative gadgets and abilities, and a whole lot of improvisation. So you don’t just use the environment to stay hidden, you influence it to your advantage.
Wait, this thing is five dollars??
$4.99 on Steam. That’s a cup of coffee for a game from one of the legends of immersive sim design. It’s launching as an introduction with more chapters planned down the road.
Console versions are coming too, but for now it’s PC only. They probably plan to string a few chapters together and then release it consoles, because PlayStation and Xbox versions have been announced, but there’s no release date on those at the time of this video.
If your backlog already has you buried and you just want something tight, replayable, and genuinely cool looking? Thick As Thieves might just steal your heart.
