Is Empulse the Movement Shooter We’ve Been Waiting For?

If you spent way too many hours wall-running in Black Ops 3 or Titanfall 2 and you’ve been waiting for something to scratch that itch again — Empulse just showed up, and it might actually be the one.

It’s a multiplayer shooter from 1047 Games — the Splitgate folks — and the movement here is the real deal. Fluid, snappy, momentum-based. You’re wall-running, boosting, hopping into mechs, and when it all comes together it genuinely feels like coming home.

Yes, it’s $20 in Early Access. Yes, people are skeptical. The big question everyone’s asking is whether the servers will still be popping a month from now — fair question. But there’s no battle pass, no nickel-and-diming. You pay once, you play.

And honestly? The bones are good. If 1047 can keep the community together, this could be something worth sticking with.

There’s a demo out now for the week of Steam Next Fest, and it’ll also be coming to Xbox and Playstation later this year.

I’m in — cautiously, but I’m in. Follow me for more games you should keep an eye on.
